Rob Malcomson

Rob Malcomson is the current Head of the International Public Sector Fraud Forum and a senior official within the UK Government Centre of Expertise for Counter Fraud in the Cabinet Office.

 Rob’s previous roles include;

·     Head of Cross Government Fraud (Data Pilots and Analytics)

·     Business Development Lead (National Fraud Initiative)

He has spent eleven years working in counter fraud and economic crime roles and has specialist skills in the use of data and data analytics to prevent and detect fraud and improper payments. Rob has worked across many areas of the public sector to develop and implement data driven counter fraud solutions and been nominated for several National Civil Service Awards as a consequence. His work has included the development of solutions to taxation, welfare, education, criminal justice, grants, housing, company incorporation and digital identity fraud. His experience is underpinned by a post-graduate qualification in counter fraud and corruption for which he was awarded a distinction.

Rob has previously worked as a Principle Auditor in the Audit Commission working with Local Authorities, Police and National Health Service organisations to undertake statutory and system based audits where he also qualified as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and trained in strategic business management.
