Linda Chero


Linda Chero is the Executive Director of the Bureau of the Fiscal Service’s Philadelphia Financial Center (PFC).  She became the Director in June 2015.

PFC is responsible for the reconciliation and reporting of all Treasury-disbursed payments and Non-Treasury-disbursed check payments. PFC is responsible for post-payment activities associated with government payments including: ACH returns, returned checks, ACH reclamations, check reclamations and associated accounting.  In fiscal year 2019, $16 billion in government funds were recovered as a result of the post payment activities in PFC. Additionally, under her leadership, PFC has emerged as a leader in detecting and reporting anomalies within the payment lifecycle and is the Bureau-wide sponsor of the Payment Integrity Center of Excellence.

Prior to coming to PFC, Linda was the Regional Commissioner for the General Services Administration (GSA) Mid-Atlantic Region.  Ms. Chero managed over $3.8 billion of the U.S. Government’s business with civilian and military Federal agencies around the world.  Linda was with GSA for 28 years and held several other positions including:  Acting PBS Commissioner, Acting Regional Administrator, Deputy Regional Administrator, Acting Assistant Regional Administrator for FAS, Director, IT Solutions Financial Services Center for FTS and Director, Programs Services in the Office of Administration.

Linda has a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University and a Master’s Degree from Temple University both in business administration.
